How To Adjust Airpod Settings On Iphone
Change AirPods audio settings on iPhone
Change what the Force Sensor does on AirPods
You can change the action performed when you use the Force Sensor.
-
Wear your AirPods and make sure they're connected to your iPhone.
-
Go to Settings > Bluetooth.
-
In the list of devices, tap next to your AirPods.
-
Choose Left or Right, then choose the action you want performed every time you double-tap the Force Sensor (AirPods 1st and 2nd generation) or press and hold the Force Sensor (AirPods Pro).
Turn off Automatic Head Detection or Automatic Ear Detection
Your AirPods automatically stop playing audio when you take them off, and resume playback when you put them back on. You can change this setting.
-
Wear your AirPods and make sure they're connected to your iPhone, then go to Settings > Bluetooth.
-
In the list of devices, tap next to your AirPods.
-
Turn off Automatic Head Detection (AirPods Max) or Automatic Ear Detection (AirPods Pro and AirPods 1st and 2nd generation).
Personalize audio settings
You can turn on headphone accommodations to amplify soft sounds and adjust certain frequencies to suit your hearing. These adjustments help music, movies, phone calls, and podcasts sound more crisp and clear. Custom audio setup (available for AirPods Pro and AirPods Max) allows you to upload an Audiogram, customize the volume level of speaking, and adjust the brightness and depth of sound.
See Adjust headphone audio settings on iPhone.
Set the microphone location for your AirPods
You can customize the microphone location on your AirPods Pro and AirPods (1st and 2nd generation).
-
Put on your AirPods and make sure they're connected to your iPhone.
-
Go to Settings > Bluetooth.
-
In the list of devices, tap next to your AirPods.
-
Tap Microphone and choose between the following options:
-
Automatic: Either of your AirPods can act as the microphone. If you use only one of them, it acts as the microphone.
-
Always Left or Always Right: The one you choose becomes the microphone, even if you remove it from your ear or put it in the case.
You can also use iPhone as a remote microphone with Live Listen. See Use iPhone as a remote microphone with Live Listen.
-
Control which notifications are announced
Time-sensitive notifications are announced automatically when you're wearing your AirPods. You can choose which apps to receive notifications from and how frequently you receive them.
-
Go to Settings > Notifications, then choose the app you want to adjust.
-
Scroll down, then tap Announce Notifications.
You can turn off Announce Notifications for that app, or change which notifications play.
To limit notifications when you need to concentrate, see Set up a Focus.
